Meet Your Second Brain was an afternoon gathering organised by The Well-Being Trust in collaboration with The Mind Diaries, held on 7 October 2025 at NCUI Auditorium.
Designed as a gentle yet informative exploration of the mind–body relationship, the event brought together medical experts, mental health professionals, and lived experience to unpack how gut health, mental wellbeing, and everyday habits are deeply interconnected.
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was calm, curious, and reflective — encouraging participants to listen not just intellectually, but also to their own bodies.
The event opened with a thought-provoking panel led by nutritionist Kavita Devgan, who guided the discussion on the science and lived realities of the brain–gut connection, helping translate complex concepts into accessible, everyday understanding.
Dr Sudeep Khanna, Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Apollo Indraprastha Hospital, spoke about the importance of treating the body with respect, highlighting simple yet powerful practices such as mindful food choices, avoiding refined flour, maintaining healthy sleep routines, and cultivating gratitude.
Clinical Psychologist Snehanky Chattopadhyay emphasised the role of mindful eating and awareness in emotional regulation, while entrepreneur Ashiish Taneja shared personal reflections, reinforcing the idea of treating the body as a temple with care, consistency, and respect.
The conversations flowed into a soothing Yoga for Gut & Mind session led by Rakesh Chandra Acharya, offering participants a direct, embodied experience of the mind–body connection discussed earlier in the day. The session served as a quiet reminder that well-being is not only understood through knowledge but felt through practice.
The afternoon concluded with Food and Stories, a warm, unhurried closing segment that celebrated nourishment, community, and mindful living. Participants shared reflections, food, and moments of connection, leaving with a deeper appreciation of how daily choices shape both physical and emotional health.
The event reinforced a central insight:
Mental well-being does not exist in isolation from the body.
