Annual Networking with Well-Being Experts

About the Event

The Well-Being Trust, in collaboration with The Mind Diaries, hosted its Annual Networking with Well-Being Experts as a thoughtfully curated, closed-door gathering prioritising depth over scale. Bringing together 15 selected individuals from across the mental health and well-being ecosystem, the evening was conceived not as a conventional networking event, but as a space for intentional exchange and reflection.

Set at the Trust’s Green Park terrace, the environment itself shaped the rhythm of the gathering, unhurried, open, and quietly conducive to conversation. The absence of a rigid structure allowed interactions to unfold organically, moving beyond surface-level introductions into more layered discussions around practice, lived experience, and the evolving challenges within the well-being landscape.

The Experience

Participants represented a diverse cross-section of the field, including practitioners, researchers, writers, and advocates. This diversity created a dynamic yet grounded exchange, where multiple perspectives could coexist, bridging clinical insight with personal narratives, and professional frameworks with experiential understanding.

A Glimpse into the Event

    Beyond the Talk

What emerged over the course of the evening was a shared recognition of both the possibilities and limitations within the current ecosystem. Conversations touched upon themes of accessibility, burnout within caregiving professions, the responsibility of holding space, and the importance of building systems that are as sustainable as they are empathetic.

Importantly, the gathering was designed to minimise performative engagement. Without the pressure to “network” in its traditional sense, participants were able to engage more honestly, with themselves and with each other. This shift in tone enabled a quieter, more meaningful form of connection—one that prioritised listening as much as speaking.

    The Impact

In its intimacy, the event allowed for the beginnings of sustained relationships rather than fleeting exchanges. It also reinforced a key principle at the heart of the Trust’s work: that meaningful community-building within the well-being sector requires spaces that are intentional, reflective, and rooted in authenticity.

The evening concluded not with a formal closing but with a sense of continuity, open-ended conversations, and connections extending beyond the confines of the gathering itself.
